HARDY BARRELS
Hardy stainless steel rifle barrels are manufactured from 416R stainless steel with a stringent process developed by Hardly rifle engineering to produce world class barrels. All Hardy barrels are CNC gun drilled, spill bore reamed, precision button rifled and lead lap finished. We stock a variety of barrels in calibres, twist rates and contours mainly suited for PRS shooters, our barrels are sold as blanks to be chambered and threaded by a gunsmith.
BARREL CONTOURS
Here at the Precision Rifle Shop we found ourselves unsuccesfully searching the internet and studying barrel diagrams trying to find the best solution for our own PRS rifles. Although there are plenty of usable options out there, we felt nobody had completely nailed the ultimate barrel contours for PRS style shooting. Through our own research and development, combined with our own experience and knowledge from competitive precision rifle shooting, we came up with new barrel contours specifically for PRS rifles and worked with our good friends at Hardy to have them manufactured. We offer the PRS-5 barrel contour which is slightly heavier than most ‘heavy varmint’ or ‘competition’ style barrel profiles, we have the PRS-1 which is a 1.25″ straight barrel, and we also offer the PRS-3 which bridges the gap between the PRS-5 and PRS-1 contours.

MUZZLE DIAMETER
When a tapered barrel is cut to length, the muzzle diameter will depend on the finished barrel length which can make it tricky to calculate your muzzle diameter for muzzle device compatibility or muzzle threading options. We have created our muzzle diameter table to be used as a quick reference guide to work out the muzzle diameter of our PRS barrel contours at your desired finished barrel length. Simply cross reference the barrel contour with the barrel length, and you’ll have your muzzle diameter.
